How to play Balloon Pop

  1. Every name gets a balloon. They pop one at a time until one is left.
  2. The survivor wins — so this one builds tension instead of ending it.
  3. Switch on pop them myself and hand the phone round the table.
  4. Weighted names are harder to pop, which is what a weight means in an elimination game.

Questions

Why are weights backwards here?

Because the game is backwards. Everywhere else a high weight means more likely to be picked; in an elimination game the same intent means less likely to be popped. A weight of 3 survives about three times as long.

Can everyone pop their own?

Yes — switch on let me pop them myself and tap the balloons in turn.

Is the last balloon really random?

Yes. Each pop is an independent weighted draw from whoever is still floating.
